[11:32]<Craig> Geek?
[11:32]<Craig> CH?
[11:33]<+camerongray> Yeah
[11:33]<+camerongray> Yesterday he was still going mental over Secure Boot
[11:33]<Craig> hahahaha
[11:33]<+camerongray> Now he's baffled between WiFi and Fibre
[11:33]<Craig> What is his view on secure boot
[11:34]<Craig> Really?
[11:34]<Craig> ...
[11:34]<+camerongray> OMG IT'S THE END OF LINUX, MICROSOFT HATE PEOPLE AND SECURE BOOT IS ANTI THEFT, YOU ARE ALL WRONG, I'M RIGHT, LOOK, MY MOST MODERN PC IS A PENTIUM 4
[11:34]<+camerongray> http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,144819.0.html

[11:35]<Craig> Check out my new Rack Rails. :)
[11:35]<+camerongray> nice!
[11:35]<+camerongray> Have you seen mine?
[11:36]<Craig> Maybe?
[11:36]<Craig> Send me a pic
[11:37]<+camerongray> http://s1146.photobucket.com/user/camerongray1515/library/Flat/Rack?sort=3&page=1
[11:37]<+camerongray> This was before I moved flat though
[11:37]<+camerongray> Pretty much the same in the new one other than having a printer on top
[11:38]<+camerongray> Oh,and it now has a modem and some power switches on the panel at the bottmo
[11:38]<+camerongray> Bottom to top - Rasperry Pi for IRC, Server and UPS, Surround Sound reciever, HDMI Matrix switch, HTPC, router
[11:39]<+camerongray> I have also now installed a fan in the top of the rack as the home cinema stuff heats it up quite a lot
[11:39]<Craig> Mine has more computers. :P
[11:39]<+camerongray> haha yeah
[11:39]<+camerongray> I don't need any more though :P
[11:39]<+camerongray> My main server is colocated
[11:41]<+camerongray> That now sits in the living room hooked up to all the home cinema stuff then has gigabit ethernet to both bedrooms
[11:45]<Craig> My Office is the backbone of my entire network. :P Including media center, Office, wifi, and such. :)
[11:49]<+camerongray> Ahh

[15:12]<+camerongray> haha, not said anything in ages :P
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> Now if you will excuse me I need to upgrade my wifi plan
[15:14]<@BC_Programming> because that is how internet works right? Wifi
[15:26]<Quantos> LOL
[15:26]<@BC_Programming> geek-9pm is hilarious
[15:27]<Quantos> Yeah, funny like haemorrhoids
[15:27]<Quantos> I really just want to plant my foot up his ass
[15:27]<@BC_Programming> Providing build advice when he's never built a system before, wtf is that
[15:28]<Quantos> I know
[15:28]<Quantos> That's like me telling someone how to program
[15:28]<@BC_Programming> "SSDs are dangerous, here take a look at this article from 2008 about a specific model"
[15:28]<Quantos> He's proof that there's a missing link anyway
[15:29]<@BC_Programming> I found the missing link. 404 not found
[15:30]<Quantos> ROFL
[15:31]<Quantos> I haven't seen a 404 in a while, I'd forgotten about them
[15:31]<Quantos> They probably have something to do with secure boot and UEFI
[15:32]<@BC_Programming> I like the part where he tried to say that I claimed a that compusecure thing or whatever it was didn't exist
[15:32]<Quantos> Yeah, I read that a few times to make sure I had it right, then I laughed for a while
[15:33]<Quantos> I don't understand why he hasn't been squelched or banned yet
[15:34]<Quantos> Staff must feel sorry for him, or they find him amusing :)
[15:34]<Quantos> And then he expected you to provide citation, what a putz
[15:35]<@BC_Programming> hmm well now I'm concerned, I've been feeling lightheaded all day so far, something is wrong... Low blood pressure? dehydrated? Too much dealing with geek-9pm before noon?
[15:35]<Quantos> Hehehehe
[15:35]<Quantos> Choke him twice and call a dr in the morning
[15:36]<@BC_Programming> yeah that bit was a joke but I am starting to get concerned
[15:37]<Quantos> For your sanity?
[15:38]<Quantos> Or just the fact that he can post to people needing real help?
[15:39]<@BC_Programming> oh geez
[15:39]<@BC_Programming> now I've gone self-diagnosis
[15:39]<@BC_Programming> "OMG I'm having a stroke" is naturally the first conclusion
[15:40]<Quantos> Don't go there man, he's really not worth it
[15:40]<@BC_Programming> uh
[15:40]<@BC_Programming> no,
[15:40]<@BC_Programming> I'm talking about my lighthededness, I don't care about that old weirdo
[15:41]<@BC_Programming> see I can't spell
[15:41]<@BC_Programming> that's clearly a symptom of a stroke right? or a pulmonary embelism?
[15:41]<Quantos> It could be just low blood sugar
[15:41]<Quantos> I hope
[15:43]<@BC_Programming> yes I'm sure it's not serious
[15:44]<Quantos> My meds do that to me sometimes
[15:44]<Quantos> I just eat a banana and I'm good in half an hour
[15:44]<@BC_Programming> well crap, I have no bananas
[15:44]<@BC_Programming> I guess I'm screwed
[15:45]<@BC_Programming> :P
[15:45]<Quantos> LOL
[15:47]<Quantos> Speaking of meds I need to go dose myself, brb
[15:48]<Quantos> Ah, pharmaceutical THC, I love that one

[16:48] * Tux2 (Tux2@mib-E1D082FA.pow-wy.client.bresnan.net) has joined #glitchpc
[16:51]<Tux2> Ugh, annoying new "feature" in the newest steam clients... I'm connected via a cable, however I'm on a laptop, so steam, in it's wonderful omniscience decides to ALWAYS enable my wifi when it starts, whether or not I'm connected to ethernet, and there is no setting to disable that.
[17:08]<Tux2> Submitted a ticket to steam... I hope they answer by adding a feature to disable that
[17:12]<Veltas> That is very hopeful
[17:14]<Tux2> lol, it's annoying... every time I start steam "You are now connected to <insert name of wireless network here>"
[17:17]<@BC_Programming> No Wifi hardware switch?
[17:20]<Tux2> Well, kind of: FN+F2
[17:21]<Tux2> But using it that way sometimes wreaks havoc when I decide to boot into another OS
[17:39]<@BC_Programming> my laptop has an actual hardware switch that I can flip on and off
[17:39]<@BC_Programming> they aren't really a think anymore though I don't thinl
[17:39]<@BC_Programming> a thing*
[17:40]<Tux2> Nope, not really, I remember that time though
[17:41]<@BC_Programming> yeah 2008
[18:14] * AlphaTech (AlphaTech@mib-DE78814.syrcny.fios.verizon.net) has joined #glitchpc
[18:15] * AlphaTech is now known as Guest34993
[18:48]<Veltas> Yes that was back when a lot of tech support ended with "did you check the hardware wifi switch?"
[20:05]<+camerongray> Wow BC_Programming - Have a golden DB thing here
[20:05]<+camerongray> Pretty on par with the Windows Workspace - Program Fingerprints!
[20:06]<@BC_Programming> haha wtf
[20:06]<@BC_Programming> the people request a pastebin
[20:07]<+camerongray> Waiting to see if he continues
[20:08]<+camerongray> http://pastebin.com/sW94Zc5T
[20:08]<@BC_Programming> bahahaha
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> I mean in concept he's right that some stuff get's left behind by some uninstallers
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> but 'fingerprints' is not exactly how I would describe them
[20:09]<+camerongray> Yeah, but has no idea what it is in more detail
[20:09]<@BC_Programming> incompetent uninstallers really
[20:09]<+camerongray> Much like Geek-9pm - Fills in the blanks himself
[20:09]<+camerongray> This is after he's made a complete arse of helping someone who says they can't upload files in any of their browsers
[20:09]<+camerongray> He's fixated that it's a Virus
[20:09]<+camerongray> Hasn't even asked simple stuff like "is it just one site that has the problem"
[20:14]<@BC_Programming> haha lol I received a warning on the MC Forum
[20:14]<@BC_Programming> some douchebag who chose the name "TheMasterCaver" is constantly going on about he is the best person at Minecraft in the entire world
[20:14]<@BC_Programming> he appears out of nowhere and I basically quotes where he says "I didn't pick my username for no reason"
[20:15]<@BC_Programming> and responded with "I Agree" linking to the wiki article on the Dunning Kruger effect.
[20:15]<@BC_Programming> I got a warning for "flaming"
[20:15]<@BC_Programming> I just said I agreed! :P
[20:17]<Veltas> Well technically you were flaming :P
[20:17]<Veltas> What are you doing on the MC Forum?
[20:19]<@BC_Programming> I play MC
[20:19]<@BC_Programming> 7,816 Posts
[20:20]<@BC_Programming> mostly I Just go to the Computer's and tech forum now, Discussion is just a bunch of whiners and people that go "Every time I mine I come back with a full inventory of iron blocks within a few minutes" type doofuses
[20:41]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Geek-9pm goofed again
[20:41]<+camerongray> He actually tried to cite evidence for once
[20:41]<+camerongray> Shame that what he cited was totally unrelated to what he had said
[20:41]<@BC_Programming> yep responding now
[20:41]<+camerongray> hehe
[20:42]<+camerongray> Basically like him claiming that "Toasters cause cancer" and then citing "Toasters make toast" as evidence
[20:43]<+camerongray> I love how he thinks you can have a magical wireless network over huge ranges
[20:44]<+camerongray> Tell that to the lecture theatres at uni that each have 3 £500 Cisco access points :P
[20:44]<+camerongray> On the plus side I worked out they are 5GHz so ordered a 5GHz card for my laptop - So much better performance because I'm away from the 2.4GHz peasants :P
[20:45]<+camerongray> (Coming from me whose home network is only 2.4GHz)
[20:45]<+camerongray> I'm also willing to bet that Geek's connection is 1mpbs DSL
[20:47]<+camerongray> Wait, I just realised
[20:47]<+camerongray> I use my laptop in lectures at uni
[20:47]<+camerongray> That's illegal or somethign isn't it?
[20:48]<@BC_Programming> you'll like my response I just posted
[20:49]<@BC_Programming> I just had to put that second part in there
[20:49]<+camerongray> haha yeah
[20:49]<+camerongray> He'll never learn
[20:49]<+camerongray> Seems to have given up on the Secure Boot one again
[20:49]<@BC_Programming> For now
[20:50]<+camerongray> haha, are you replying or something?
[20:50]<@BC_Programming> that link you gave to his blog didn't work for me btw
[20:50]<+camerongray> Try it again: http://geek9pm.com/wp-Fred/?p=1 Works here
[20:50]<+camerongray> Also, prepare your eyes for Comic Sans
[20:50]<@BC_Programming> too late
[20:50]<@BC_Programming> ahhh
[20:50]<@BC_Programming> bahaha
[20:50]<@BC_Programming> "earlier I posted maternal that was critical..."
[20:51]<+camerongray> I just can't understand how he can't imagine that he could be wrongf
[20:51]<@BC_Programming> First sentence, already a dictation error
[20:51]<+camerongray> lol
[20:51]<+camerongray> He said earlier that "fibber" was good technology
[20:51]<+camerongray> I can't wait for "fibber broadband"
[20:51]<@BC_Programming> I like how he either has no spam protection or figures somebody is actually named "Mulberry Outlet UK Sale"
[20:52]<+camerongray> Much better than my current "flubber" broadband
[20:52]<@BC_Programming> heh look at the navigation bar
[20:52]<+camerongray> haha yeah
[20:52]<+camerongray> oh
[20:52]<@BC_Programming> SPECAIOL INTERSTS
[20:52]<+camerongray> "specaiol"
[20:52]<+camerongray> In other news, I love my new broadband :P
[20:53]<+camerongray> But it's fibre, not wireless so it must be terrible
[20:53]<@BC_Programming> Somebody really needs to properly invent the teleporter
[20:53]<@BC_Programming> I bet you there is a massive conspiracy by shipping companies to keep us from learning the truth about teleporter technology or something
[20:54]<@BC_Programming> Fedex operatives destroying the only prototype, etc.
[20:54]<+camerongray> hehe
[20:54]<@BC_Programming> imagine being able to order something and have it within minutes lol
[20:54]<+camerongray> That would be dangerous
[20:55]<+camerongray> I'd buy even more stuff I don't need
[21:00]<@BC_Programming> This is true
[21:00]<@BC_Programming> I've barely read any of Clean Code and haven't read any of "Code Complete 2"

[22:20]<@BC_Programming> Right because Walking an hour and a half each way is convenient for me
[22:20]<Tux2> Oh, right, forgot you don't have a car
[22:21]<@BC_Programming> Also you cannot buy stuff like gamecube or SNES games or old computer stuff from stores :P

[22:43]<Tux2> lol, yeah, you can join it using an IRC client... It's structured almost exactly like IRC, so it works just about the same in my IRC client
[22:44]<@BC_Programming> well if you can join using IRC it's just an IRC server
[22:44]<Tux2> Exactly!
[22:45]<@BC_Programming> Our new Manager is awesome
[22:46]<Tux2> Oh?
[22:46]<@BC_Programming> yeah new Engineering/Product manager
[22:46]<Tux2> Nice!
[22:46]<@BC_Programming> he wrote a book on programming design patterns even
[22:47]<Tux2> That's really cool
[22:47]<@BC_Programming> oh actually not on design patterns, UI design
